Pack 454 Events for the 2022/2023 Scout Year
Our Scouts showcased their fishing skills and enthusiasm as they reeled in over 30 fish during the competition! It was heartwarming to see their smiles and excitement as they experienced the joy of catching their very own fish.
Our Fishing Derby embodied the true spirit of Cub Scouts – teamwork, camaraderie, and the love for the great outdoors. It's fantastic to see our scouts bonding, learning, and growing together through these experiences.
Gratitude to our incredible parents & leaders who worked to set up this wonderful event. Thank you for making it such a memorable success!
Memories are made all year round in Scouting, but the ones made at resident camp (Camp Lassen) are extra special. Highlights, just to name a few, included scouts earning their rank-specific shooting sports awards and pins for archery and BB guns, fishing, hiking, orienteering, knot tying, fire building, bmx biking, performing an original skit in front of the entire camp at the closing campfire (Space Viper), enjoying dutch oven cobbler, and even earning a "Unit of Excellence Gold Award" as recognition for our spotless campsite which will be added to the Pack flag…. Oh and of course shopping at the Trading Post. Proud of these Cubs for representing Pack 454 and a big thank you to our amazing Committee Chair, Gabe Alvaro, for taking care of all the paperwork and organization to make this trip such a success for everyone that attended! Hope to see everyone there next year!!!!
Pack 454 had a great movie and s'mores night on Saturday. The Scouts enjoyed watching Derby Down and learnt to construct the perfect s'more. Thank you to all of the parents who helped make the night such a great success.
A Mountain Adventure Day for the books!! Pack 454 scouts hiked, completed crafts, played games and celebrated each other as each den graduated to the their next level of Scouting. What a great year of Scouting!
This last weekend a few of our Tigers went to an overnight Tiger Cub Safari in Willets. It was an exciting and educational camping trip for our Scouts! The tigers explored the great outdoors, went rowing, tried archery, fishing and BB guns. They bonded over campfires and made memories that will last a lifetime.
On Thursday Pack 454 held our annual field day pack meeting where we had ski races, tug of war, and sled races. These games helped our scouts continue to learn to communicate, support each other and work towards a common goal. It was so heartwarming watching them cheer each other on! Great teamwork scouts!
On Saturday Pack 454 had our Arrow of Light Ceremony where we were honored to celebrate Brayden De La Torre, Constantine Vandarakis and Theodore Day as they crossed over the bridge to join their Scouts Troop. This is the highest rank in Cub Scouts. Congratulations Scouts!
We also celebrated BSA's 113th birthday by decorating cookies, ice cream sundaes, a true/false quiz, magic show and a carnival game!
Thank you for FedEx for providing our activity pages.
A huge thank you to Carleigh for heading this great event & the parent volunteers who provided our treats!
A huge thank you to Sierra Wildlife Rescue for joining our pack meet tonight. The Scouts learnt about raptors and were able to meet a spotted owl, a screecher owl and a red tail hawk. Next each den received awards and four tigers earned their Tiger rank!

Last Saturday Pack 454 had a great turnout for our Annual Bobcat Meeting! The first rank that every scout, except Lions, earns is the Bobcat rank. To earn your Bobcat rank a scout must learn the Scout Oath, Law, Handshake, Salute and Motto. The scouts did a great job and are well on their way to living the Scout Motto of Do Your Best!
Pack 454 spent the morning helping William Brooks Elementary School shovel a soil donation into their garden beds.
We are so proud of these Cub Scouts and their hard work this morning!
