When compared to the cost of sports and many other activities, there is no doubt that Scouting delivers great value to its members! Costs include BSA membership fees, uniform costs, and nominal activity fees that may arise. You should expect to pay around $300 in annual dues/registration for a year of Scouting and fun activities. Additionally, you will incur costs associated with purchasing a uniform and rank specific handbook for your scout. There may be additional optional activities throughout the year. Annual Dues
Total annual dues to participate in Pack 454 are $300. Pack dues ($120) are paid directly to the Pack and go toward your Scout’s patches, advancements, pack activities and general supplies. The remaining portion is paid directly to BSA/Golden Empire Council when you register or renew your Scout's registration, consisting of annual BSA membership fee ($85); annual Golden Empire Council membership fee ($80); and Scout Life Magazine ($15). Each Scout is also expected to purchase a uniform. There may be optional events that occur throughout the year that require additional contributions, but that will be communicated as these events arise. Please see the table for a breakdown of the estimated annual cost.

UNIFORM
The uniform is a method of delivering the Scouting program. It shows that you are a member of a team. Each grade has a specific uniform for their program.
HANDBOOK
HANDBOOK
Each grade level has a specific handbook they use. Handbooks are about $24 and are used for the year. Handbooks have all the required and elective adventures for each rank. Handbooks also serve as a Scout’s record of completing adventures.

Dues are set at $110 a year.

Additional optional activities such as overnight camp outs, field trips, and day camps may have additional costs associated with them. These costs differ based on several factors and be communicated prior to all events.
